Moodle Development Services

Today I’m going to release a new series on Moodle LMS developing a more complex and deeper plug-in from scratch and I’m hoping that it will let us get deeper into Moodle and explore some more complicated Functionality.

that I wouldn't be able to Really get into Unless we were developing a full plug-in And how to get set up with php MySQL Apache and Moodle so definitely check Those out to get to the point that we Start off with in this blog But once you've got all set up then you Should be able to follow along in this Series and and basically build up this plugin with me and I’ve got all the code in the description as well so you can just copy and paste or you can follow along and the idea is I’ll be adding to this series later on so to start off with we're going to be doing uh basically a guide on firstly how to create database tables so we'll be you know creating a place in the database where we can store our data then we will build some new pages in Moodle using templates and in these pages we'll put a form to get the user input and then we'll handle the form and put that data into the data base and we'll also write some custom sol to query that new data that we've inserted into the database and do some cool stuff with it and what we’re going to does display some dynamic notifications using callback functions in Moodle and once you follow along you’ll understand what all this stuff is and basically uh you know learn a lot about all these this different functionality in Moodle and we're going to add more lectures to this as well in the future so there's plenty more to kind of build on uh even beyond what we do here to start with and here I’ve just laid out a bit of a road map of the course so it's going to start off with uh just creating a new plugin and installing the database tables that's kind of like lecture one then we're going to make a new manage page and render using a moustache template yes I’m going to show you how to how to output html to a page in the best Moodle way to do it we're going to build a Moodle form and load that user submitted data into the database from the for mind we're going to use that data we’re going to read it and display some dynamic notifications depending on what the user submitted and then in the future who knows we'll add some more functionality and there's plenty more because Moodle is a deep complex beast and I’m sure we can figure out a lot more functionality to add to this plugin.
